Earth Angels is proud to support Dockwalkers, a program that is dedicated to educating boaters on clean environmental boating practices in the State of California. While volunteering as certified Dockwalkers Nina and Carla were inspired to take things a step further and start the “Soak It Up!” campaign.
“Soak it Up!” is a campaign that was founded by Earth Angels’ Nina Smidt and Carla Houston. In 2010, Nina and Carla attended a Dockwalker certification Program. After learning about the environmental impacts of boating, they decided to launch a campaign calling for the state of California to implement a license certification process for recreational boaters. Currently, there is no educational prerequisite for boaters in California, making it the only coastal state without one. Thanks to the LASC, Model Environment and Environment California, the campaign has become what it is today. To learn more, click here: http://lasustainability.org/soak-it-up-3/
Trashformation is an Earth Angels slash Model Environment collaboration. Together we team up with conscious local businesses, artists and organizations such as Sierra Club, Jim Buchman Studios, Jonny Marlow Photography, Kevin Zacher Photography, Mind Teez, The Punchbowl Los Feliz, and well, pick up trash! Somebody’s gotta do it… So we do!
Tree People is an environmental nonprofit that unites the power of trees, people and nature-based solutions to grow a sustainable future for Los Angeles.
